Presentation to a Hero: Following Raid on Guest & Philips (Beverley)

We would like to say a HUGE Thank you to the delivery driver from DPD who tried to block the raiders getaway car with his delivery van. The kind hearted delivery driver quickly realised what was happening as he arrived at our Guest & Philips jewellery shop in Beverley to make a delivery. He quickly manoeuvered his van to block the escape route of the raiders car. He was then forced to move when one of the raiders pointed a shotgun at him!

Earlier this year the DPD driver arrived in a pink Onesie which he was wearing to raise money for Breast Cancer. He also donated that days wages to the charity. Today he joked about how funny it would have been if he had arrived in his Onesie during the raid! We presented our hero with a watch to say thank you. Below are some photographs taken a few minutes after the raid. Most of the mess is just shattered safety glass; which the raiders smashed using an axe. Members of staff had been asked to lay on the floor during the raid. We opened our store later the same day. All the mess has been cleaned away and we are open for business as usual.
